Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Cannabinoids
Unit #3

This unit will present the current understanding of cannabinoid pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. First, it will review the differences between routes of administration in cannabinoid bioavailability, the tissue distribution, and the elimination pathways for cannabinoids. Next, the putative mechanisms by which cannabinoids exert their effects will be reviewed. The final part of the talk will be focused on factors that contribute to variability between people in response to cannabinoids, including interactions with food and medications and pharmacogenetics.
